  5. Are there Integrative Medicine options for Coronavirus?
Yes, and we need much more research to confirm best therapies. There are natural medicines combined shown to be effective against similar SARS coronaviruses, such as during the 2003 SARS epidemic in China. And we know how these botanical medicines work. Furthermore, pharmaceuticals combined with nutrients like zinc can have benefit. In February 2020, there was an open label pharmaceutical research trial in China which showed chloroquine phosphate to be effective against coronavirus in patients with pneumonia in over 10 hospitals, 100+ patients, and several different cities in China. For more details about these medications you can read more about it here. These medications are also reserved for higher risk populations mentioned above. This was not a double-blinded Randomized Control Trial (RCT), which is the gold standard for modern medical research. There are not such trials that have been released, yet, for COVID-19 cases. Also, there’s two conventional prescription medications, hydroquinolone and azithromycin, that have been found to be even more effective (March 2020) against this SARS-cov-2 virus, the COVID-19 infection, than just chloroquine alone.

IV Vitamin C is being used in China for cases of coronavirus as well with benefits.

As always, we strongly advise you follow your local Public Health Department’s guidelines and Centers of Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for personal hygiene, staying home, only going to the store if you must for food, water, and supplies, and no traveling so we can stop the spread of this novel coronavirus.

Hygiene and staying home are top priority to flatten the curve and decrease the spread rate of the virus to higher risk populations. This is also to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed by people infected with this novel coronavirus. Please follow these guidelines! People’s lives depend on it!

Currently, more research is underway for conventional medications, vaccinations (some will be completed June 2021), and natural medicines.

An integrative medicine approach is the best bet since RNA viruses like the coronavirus do mutate quickly, combined with Public Health hygiene practices, and staying at home for preventing the spread of the virus. If you are sick, please make sure to stay home and away from other people by 10 feet until 100% well.
